Jeff Hendrick’s stunning strike at Brighton is in the running for the Premier League’s Goal of the Month.
Hendrick’s injury-time equaliser in a 1-1 draw at the Amex Stadium is one of eight goals nominated for the September award, sponsored by Budweiser.
The Clarets’ midfielder’s effort is up against goals scored by Newcastle’s Jetro Williams (against Liverpool), Chelsea’s Fikayo Tomori (against Wolves), Southampton’s Moussa Djenepo (against Sheffield United), Leicester’s James Maddison (against Tottenham), West Ham’s Aaron Cresswell (against Manchester United), Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold (against Chelsea) and Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante (against Liverpool).
Hendrick’s goal, drilled first-time into the bottom corner of the net from outside the penalty area, came at the end of a flowing seven-man move started by goalkeeper Nick Pope as the Clarets hit back to claim a point.
