Teenage goalkeeper Kai Calderbank-Park has received an international call-up in another boost for the Clarets’ Academy.
Calderbank-Park – who was a awarded a third-year scholarship at Turf Moor at the end of last season – has been included in Australia’s squad for the finals of the Asian Football Ferederation’s U-19s Championships in August.
The tournament takes place in Vietnam from 2-20 August with Calderbank-Park, 18, named in the Young Socceroos squad that will face Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore in the group stages.
The New South Wales-born keeper, who will report back for pre-season training as part of Steve Stone’s under-23 squad at the beginning of July, has also been called up for the start of the qualifying campaign for the 2020 championships, which start in October.
