FA launch investigation into pitch invasion at Turf Moor after Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder hit out at 'scary' post-match scenes following Burnley's promotion-clinching win

The Football Association are investigating a pitch invasion that followed Burnley’s promotion-sealing victory over Sheffield United.

Thousands of fans of the Lancashire club ran onto the field after the final whistle of a 2-1 victory over the Blades that sent Scott Parker’s men back to the Premier League.

While the mood was mostly celebratory, some appeared to taunt and goad opposition players. United star Hamzah Choudhury appeared visibly upset as a fracas unfolded, with the player eventually dragged from the field of play.

And Blades manager Chris Wilder hit out at their hosts following a defeat which ended his own side’s chances of automatic promotion.
