Everton will write letter of apology to fans after digital ticket chaos that saw them locked out of Burnley cup tie at Goodison Park, with supporters reporting 'kids crying' amid 'scary' crush which saw thousands queuing for up to an HOUR

Everton will write an apology letter to fans after an incident before Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup win over Burnley saw thousands of crowded supporters stuck outside the stadium due to a ticketing issue and technical faults with the turnstiles.

A number of entry points around the Main Stand, part of the Gwladys Street Stand and the Bullens Road area malfunctioned for several minutes and fans were redirected to the box office to get paper tickets. This led to mass crowding outside the ground.

Many fans took to social media to voice their anger and anxieties about it.
