Sean Dyche hailed a “magnificent achievement” as the Clarets hit the magical 40-point mark with a hard-fought point at Chelsea.
The Clarets led and then came from behind to frustrate the Blues, who badly needed a win to improve their chances of Champions League football next season.
But Dyche’s men dug in with a gritty, resilient second half display to virtually guarantee a fourth successive season in the Premier League.
The gaffer said: “I am delighted with the performance tonight. They (Chelsea) were excellent in the first 30 minutes of the game and we had to fight, work and do all the diligent stuff as a group and eventually, that got us a point.
