Sean Dyche believes his Premier League experience has helped keep a steady hand on the tiller to steer the Clarets to calmer waters.
Dyche will take charge of his 150th top-flight game when Burnley welcome Manchester City to Turf Moor on Sunday.
And he insists the lessons learned from previous campaigns helped him keep the faith when his side picked up just 12 points from their opening 19 matches.
The Burnley boss, whose side have virtually secured a fourth season in the top division for the first time since 1971, said: “That experience and that knowledge allowed my clarity of view at the half-way point this season because, although the Premier League is very unforgiving, we have showed that we can compete.
