Danny Drinkwater scored his first goal in a Burnley shirt as the Clarets beat an AFC Fylde side 3-0 in a Barnfield bounce-game.
Drinkwater claimed the second of three goals scored by the Clarets in a dominant second-half performance.
But, more importantly, the deadline-day signing was one of a number of senior players to complete the full game.
Drinkwater appeared for 45 minutes as an over-age player in the U23s’ 1-1 Professional Development League draw with Coventry City at Turf Moor on Monday.
And the on-loan midfielder stepped up on that to further build up his match fitness alongside Jeff Hendrick in the middle of the park.
