It was double delight for Ashley Westwood as he was crowned the Clarets’ Player of the Year.
The midfielder won the club’s official award – voted for by supporters – and made it a memorable twin success by also being named Players’ Player of the Year by his team-mates.
Westwood was honoured at a gala awards night at Turf Moor as a reward for an outstanding campaign which saw the 29-year-old play a key role in helping the Clarets secure a fourth successive season of Premier League football.
In his most productive campaign so far as a Claret, Westwood has started 30 top-flight games.
