A rare and stunning goal from Matt Lowton capped an impressive Burnley performance at Crystal Palace as they ruined Roy Hodgson’s landmark occasion to pull further clear of the bottom three.
Sean Dyche’s side were already coasting to victory and 2-0 up at half-time after a brilliant start, on the day Hodgson became the 10th manager to take charge of 350 Premier League games.
But Lowton stole the show with his first goal in over five years, a spectacular first-time volley and goal of the month contender that his teammates could barely believe.
That sealed Burnley’s most emphatic win of the season and a first success in five as they scored three in the league for the first time this season.
