Burnley FC was proud to celebrate Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign at last night’s game against Liverpool.
Captain Ben Mee wore the rainbow armband, club mascot Bertie Bee and Burnley FC in the Community staff sported the rainbow laces and the matchday pitch flag, ball plinth, handshake board, substitute board, programme and big screen were all adorned with the rainbow.
As committed champions of equality and diversity, this support will continue into Saturday’s game against Brighton and Hove Albion.
The club’s stance on homophobic chants and abuse is one of zero tolerance. Any reports of homophobia in the Turf Moor stadium on Saturday – and every game beyond – will be dealt with very seriously.
