Chris Wilder defends Sean Dyche after his light-hearted press call before Man City loss

Chris Wilder insists the killjoys who risk turning Premier League managers into robots are no laughing matter.

The Sheffield United boss defended his Burnley counterpart Sean Dyche after he faced flak for a light-hearted five-minute interlude at the end of his regular pre-match press call.

Dyche was accused of being overly-flippant in the run-up to an important game against Manchester City after going off at a tangent to discuss his love of spotting famous look-alikes in everyday situations.

Wilder isn't averse to going down the same path, and had journalists in stitches last season when the cricket fanatic revealed how he turned down a ticket for Ben Stokes' Headingley Ashes heroics against Australia.
