But just four minutes later, Forest regained the lead through Keith Asare.
And the away side ensured all three points in the 80th minute, as Jack Sherlock stroked home a third.
The opening 30 minutes of the match were very even, neither side getting any real grip of the ball as the rain poured down at the Barnfield Training Centre.
