Burnley see £8m approach for Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga rejected as Sean Dyche prepares for life without Andre Gray

Burnley have seen an £8million bid for Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga rejected.

Manager Sean Dyche is in the market for a replacement for Andre Gray who is set to leave Turf Moor with just one year left on his contract.

Dyche has identified Assombalonga as one of his top targets, having previously worked with him at Watford where the 24-year-striker started his career.

Assombalonga moved onto Peterborough and then Forest for £5.5m in 2014, scoring 30 goals in 47 Championship starts for the club.
