Michael Keane's call-up to the England squad on Tuesday could not be more deserved and he should arguably have been in Gareth Southgate's initial selection. Keane has been magnificent in back-to-back matches for the Clarets, barely putting a foot wrong in a 2-0 win over Watford and an unfortunate 1-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal.
The argument that players should be picked on form has flaws, as it could lead to too many changes in each international break, but there is no doubt Keane is currently one of the best defenders available to England.
