Burnley have brought in ex-Sheffield United defender John Egan on a deal until the end of the season.
Egan was a free agent having been released by the Blades in the summer following their relegation from the Premier League.
The 31-year-old Republic of Ireland centre-half spent six seasons at Bramall Lane, making 208 league appearances.
But he has not played since 30 September last year, having suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in a match at West Ham United.
"The manager, staff and the players all want to be successful. I want to come in and add to that," he told the club's website, external.
