Sean Dyche might have left the bookmakers red-faced, having steered promoted Burnley to Premier League safety against the odds, but he insists that even his achievements at Turf Moor will not protect his job as manager.
Dyche, dismissed by Watford, has gone on to forge a success story for Burnley as well as himself, and having guided his team to safety with games to spare finds himself on the shortlist for Manager of the Year as well as the subject of a giant mural painted on an end-terrace in the grateful Lancashire town.
Should Burnley extend their magnificent home form to an 11th win of the campaign on Sunday against West Ham, they will leapfrog their visitors and could finish as high as 11th in the final table while fellow promoted clubs Middlesbrough and Hull contemplate life once more in the Championship.
