Robbie Brady is back in the Republic of Ireland squad and there is also a first senior call-up for young Clarets defender Jimmy Dunne.
Dunne – who is currently enjoying an impressive loan spell at Scottish Premier League Hearts – has been named in a provisional squad for a friendly against Northern Ireland and a Nations League group game in Denmark.
The Clarets pair are joined in the Irish party by Turf Moor team-mates Jeff Hendrick and Kevin Long. Stephen Ward is currently side-lined as he recovers from knee surgery.
Ireland play against the North in Dublin on Thursday, 15 November and then face the Danes in Aarhus on Monday, 19 November as they seek a first win in the Nations League.
