Burnley star Anass Zaroury is backing an aid effort to help Moroccans in the wake of this month’s devastating earthquake in the country.
More than 360,000 people have been affected by a 6.8 magnitude shock in the High Atlas region that has seen thousands die, suffer injuries or lose their homes.
Zaroury, born in Belgium but who represents Morocco, has family who live close to Marrakesh and is joining Islamic Relief’s aid distribution after they partnered with Burnley.
‘It was heartbreaking,’ Zaroury said. ‘It was such a shock coming from nowhere. We were all sad in our families.
