Alan Pardew keen on Leicester job; Burnley's Sean Dyche plays down links

Former Newcastle and Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has applied for the vacant manager's job at Leicester City, sources have told ESPN FC.

Leicester are searching for a new manager after parting company with Craig Shakespeare, who had been in charge of the side since Claudio Ranieri's departure in February.

The club's owners are keen to bring in a high-profile replacement to succeed Shakespeare and have sounded out former Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel and ex-England boss Sam Allardyce, but both have ruled themselves out of contention.

Pardew, who had also been in the frame to replace Ranieri at the King Power Stadium, is keen to get back into management after having been out of the game since December last year, when he left Crystal Palace.
