Accrington Stanley 0-0 Burnley (1-0 AET): Matty Pearson strikes last gasp winner to send Clarets crashing out of EFL Cup

Premier League side Burnley crashed out of the second round of the EFL Cup after an extra-time winner from Accrington Stanley at the Wham Stadium.

Sean Dyche made no less than 10 changes to the Clarets side that upset Liverpool in the Premier League last weekend - with Johann Berg Gudmundsson coming closest to opening the scoring during a lacklustre first-half for a Lancashire derby.

Substitute Andre Gray and Lukas Jutkiewicz missed opportunities to take the lead as the game trudged towards extra-time. Clarets No 1 Nick Pope made a superb save to deny Rommy Bocco, but Matty Pearson netted in the final minute of extra-time to send the League Two minnows into the third round of the League Cup for the first time.
