The Buffalo Sabres are having a surprising bounce back season through 34 games. Entering play tonight they sit alone in second place in the Atlantic Division and are 11 points clear of a playoff spot.
There are a variety of reasons for the Sabres turnaround, but the primary reason is the play of their captain Jack Eichel.
The 22-year-old center has 14 goals and 45 points through 34 games. That puts him on pace for 34 goals and 109 points this season.
He’s the driver on one of the best lines in the NHL this season with Jeff Skinner and now Sam Reinhart.
