On Friday afternoon, the National Hockey League named forward Victor Olofsson as the league’s Rookie of the Month for October.
In 13 games in October, Olofsson tallied 10 points (six goals, four assists).
Olofsson showed off his prowess on the power play, scoring all six of his goals in the month with the man-advantage.
With those six power play goals, and two power play goals last season, Olofsson has scored his first career eight goals on the power play - a NHL record.
Olofsson edged out fellow rookies Ilya Mikheyev, Quinn Hughes, Cale Makar and Ilya Samsonov for the monthly honor.
