The Buffalo Sabres went into tonight with the best odds to win the first overall pick and will end up selecting first overall in the 2021 NHL Draft! The Seattle Kraken moved up from third overall and will select second. The Anaheim Ducks round out the top three at third overall.
The interesting part is that there is not a prospect that is the consensus top pick in the draft this year. There are about three or four players that could first overall. The group includes two defensemen in Owen Power and Luke Hughes.
