The Sabres have thrown another name into the upcoming battle for blueline minutes, signing former Avalanche defenseman Cody Goloubef to a professional tryout agreement.
Goloubef, 27, played 33 games for last-place Colorado last season, totaling five assists and a -11. He’s played in parts of six NHL seasons between Columbus and Colorado, seeing the most time (43 games) in 2015-16.
Goloubef has played 129 career NHL games, scoring two goals and 23 points. When he was in the AHL last season he split time between the Cleveland Monsters and the San Antonio Rampage, scoring two goals and eight points in 18 games.
