The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has recalled defenseman Chad Ruhwedel and goaltender Nathan Lieuwen from the Rochester Americans (AHL).
Ruhwedel (5'11", 200 lbs., 5/7/1990) has totaled 22 points in 46 AHL games this season, leading all Amerks defensemen with eight goals, and has 11 points (4+7) in his last 12 games. The San Diego native has appeared in 32 career games with the Sabres since making his NHL debut in the 2012-13 season and will join the team on his first recall of the season.
Lieuwen (6’4”, 200 lbs., 8/8/1991) joins the Sabres on his second recall of the season after serving as the team's backup in for five games in October.
