It doesn’t take 20/20 vision to see that this year’s edition of the Sabres is way better than last year’s team. They score more, control the play, take fewer penalties and have a discernible game plan. Buffalo has made remarkable improvement in nearly every category.
It’s barely mattered. All the progress has resulted in a whopping one extra victory.
Through eight games, the Sabres are 2-6. Last year’s team was 1-7.
“There’s frustration, for sure,” captain Brian Gionta said. “We know we’re a much better team than our record is right now.
