Buffalo was so confident they'd land him that they had a press conference scheduled according to the Buffalo News' Tim Graham.
Tim Graham of the Buffalo News says the Sabres aren't too happy about how the whole Babcock situation turned out. In fact, the team feels that they've been "played."

It's not yet known whether Babcock used the Sabres as leverage against the Leafs, or if he ever truly planned to come to Buffalo at all.
