The Rochester Americans open the 2015-2016 American Hockey League season on Friday, October 9, just one day after their parent club in Buffalo opens their season. The Amerks open that night hosting the Lake Erie Monsters in Randy Cunneyworth’s debut in his second stint behind the bench.
The 2015-16 season will see the Rochester Americans face 16 teams, including all the teams in both the Atlantic and North divisions. The Amerks won’t face any Pacific Division teams, and will only face two of eight teams in the Central Divison.
That means Amerks fans will have to wait to see new teams like the Bakersfield Condors, Ontario Reign and San Diego Gulls.
