Both the Buffalo Sabres and Detroit Red Wings had very little to play for coming in to tonight’s game. Both teams were out of the playoff race, and are coming off disappointing seasons for different reasons.
But the Sabres came out of the gate strong tonight, and used their league-leading power play to score two goals and take down the Red Wings 2-1.
The Sabres out shot the Wings 13-5 in the first period, and Jack Eichel would open the scoring on the power play with assists to O’Reilly and Ristolainen to open the scoring.
