The Buffalo Sabres once again took the lead, but it took until the third period to make it 2-0. Ryan O'Reilly scored on the powerplay and Johan Larsson got the second. The New Jersey Devils pulled one back but the Sabres killed off a late penalty and Jack Eichel showed some real tenacity to score an empty-netter.
