The Sabres got off to a slower start tonight against the Bruins. Tage Thompson created the scoring chances early for the hosts, picking up where he left off last night. He had a nice neutral zone poke check to create a breakaway for himself, but hit the post.
A few minutes later he poked checked the defender at his own blue line and created another odd man rush that didn’t convert.
The Bruins got on the board first a little over half through the period. Trent Frederic cleaned up a loose puck to give his club the lead.
