In all likelihood, the Buffalo Sabres are done with Josh Gorges. What remains to be seen is if Gorges is done with the NHL, and vice versa. The pending unrestricted free agent hasn’t ruled out a return to hockey next season following a forgettable season in Buffalo.
Gorges was the oldest player on the Sabres’ backend this season, just over ten years the senior of his at-times D partner Rasmus Ristolainen.
