Buffalo Sabres star center Jack Eichel has returned to practice today. He’s been out since February 10 with his second high ankle sprain in two years.
If Eichel returns to game action on Thursday or Saturday it’ll be five weeks removed from the injury. A high ankle sprain can be tricky and range anywhere from four to eight weeks in time spent on the shelf.
Eichel still leads the team in goals (22) and points (53) even though he’s missed 14 games so far.
He skated on a line with Zemgus Girgensons and Jason Pominville in practice today according to the media in attendance.
