The Buffalo Sabres are floundering and could very likely find themselves out of the playoff picture by the end of this week. They fell out of the top three in the Atlantic Division for the first time in a month and half yesterday with the Boston Bruins victory in the Winter Classic.
The New York Islanders only sit two points behind the Sabres with two games in hand and the Montreal Canadiens are only one point back.
They’re in the midst of a 4-7-4 stretch since the 10-game winning streak.
