Tim Murray hasn't exactly been one to sit back and watch since he was named the Sabres general manager. Yet, he did just that yesterday, only signing two likely Rochester-bound free agents on the first day of the open signing period.
It wasn't silly money season like it often is on July 1st, but many of the top targets are now off the board. If the Sabres still want to add a left-handed defenseman in free agency, it won't be Paul Martin, Andrej Sekera, Francois Beauchemin, Barret Jackman, Matt Hunwick or John Moore.
