Former Sabre Phil Housley elected to Hockey Hall of Fame

Add another name to the list of Buffalo Sabres Hall of Famers, as former Sabre defenseman Phil Housley was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame's Class of 2015.

Joining Housley in the Hall this year are Sergei Federov, Niklas Lidstrom, Chris Pronger (LOL), Angela Ruggerio, Bill Hay, and Peter Karmanos.

Drafted sixth overall in the 1982 draft by Buffalo, Housley played the first eight seasons of his career in blue and gold, playing 643 games in Buffalo and scoring 558 points, still a team record for a defenseman. For many years Housley held the record for most total points by an American born player, until Mike Modano snatched it away in 2007.
