Former Buffalo Sabres defenseman Robyn Regehr officially retired from the National Hockey League as a member of the Calgary Flames on Monday.
Regehr, who announced his pending retirement back in April, signed a symbolic contract with the Flames on Monday before officially retiring.
Regehr’s NHL career included stints with the Flames, the Buffalo Sabres and, most recently, the Los Angeles Kings.
The 35-year-old was drafted by the Colorado Avalanche 19th overall in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
He became just the second NHL player from Brazil when he made his NHL debut with the Flames on October 28, 1999 against the Ottawa Senators.
