The Buffalo Sabres are back in action tonight, looking to try and make something resembling forward progress in a season that has yet to see the team win back-to-back games.
Problem is . . . the Sabres host the Tampa Bay Lightning, who just so happen to have the best record in the Eastern Conference and the second-most points in the entire NHL.
Just how big is the gap between the two teams? For starters, the Lightning have scored 86 goals this season – that’s 31 more than the Sabres. That is how pitiful Buffalo’s offense is: by the end of the season, it is more than likely that the Lightning will have outscored the Sabres by more than 120 goals.
