Ever Since Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen won the Most Outstanding Player award as a goaltender in the OHL, Buffalo Sabres fans have been counting down the days to his NHL Debut.
It appears that day is now a small bit closer as the 20 year old has been promoted to the AHL to play with the Rochester Americans. Luukkonen has been out until this point after undergoing a successful hip surgery. When Luukkonen had the surgery following the 2018-19 season there were rumors that he could miss the entire 2019-20 campaign. However, Luukkonen has been recovering very well and now there are talks that he could be back within 2 weeks.
