The Buffalo Sabres have traded forward Jamie McGinn to the Anaheim Ducks.
The trade call was reportedly put through just before the NHL’s 3 p.m. trade deadline on Monday afternoon.
In return, the Buffalo Sabres receive a conditional third-round draft pick that could turn into a second-rounder.
The conditions: if the Ducks make the Western Conference Finals, the third-rounder turns into a second-rounder. McGinn also has to play at least half of the games in the first two playoff rounds, according to Bruce Garrioch.
It’s unclear right now what year the picks are for – the Ducks don’t have a second-round pick in 2016, so it’s possible it’s a 2017 pick.
