The Buffalo Sabres are really devoting lots of time and effort to their AHL affiliate the Rochester Americans during this Free Agency period. After making two signings yesterday to bolster the blue line, they have announced the signing of center Derek Grant on a two-way contract.
Grant is expected to be a replacement for forward Tim Schaller who signed with the Boston Bruins yesterday. The Abbotsford, BC native played fifteen games for the Calgary Flames last season, scoring one assist. He was drafted in 2008 in the fourth round by the Ottawa Senators, where he played twenty games in the 2013-14 season.
