The Buffalo Sabres have recalled forward Cal O’Reilly from the AHL’s Rochester Americans, to join the team on its western road trip with his brother, Ryan O’Reilly, out for 3-4 weeks.
O’Reilly has registered 28 points in 44 games with the Rochester Americans this season, including six goals and 22 assists.
He’s also appeared in five games with the Buffalo Sabres, notching one assist in that time.
Overall, the elder O’Reilly has 118 games of NHL experience under his belt, played with Nashville, Phoenix, Pittsburgh and Buffalo.
O’Reilly was originally drafted by the Nasvhille Predators with the 150th overall selection in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
