The Buffalo Sabres have announced that they have resigned one of their restricted free agents, Casey Fitzgerald.
The now 24 year old right handed defenseman has spent the past two seasons in Rochester amassing 47 games and 19 points, after concluding his four years at Boston College.
For Casey, he sees a nice financial promotion should he not make the Sabres squad, with his minors salary increasing from $70,000 to $125,000 and $300,000. With the departure of William Borgen in the expansion draft, Fitzgerald looks to be the “next man up” (for at least right handed defenseman) from Rochester.
