Buffalo Sabres Prospect Borgen Makes Team USA

With the start of the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championships just three short days away, we now know that one Buffalo Sabres prospect has made his respective country’s team.

Buffalo Sabres prospect Will Borgen, a 2015 draft choice picked 92nd overall earlier this year, will play for Team USA after surviving the final cuts.

Final cuts were announced early Wednesday morning, with forward Clayton Keller and defenseman Ryan Collins both falling to the wayside.

Borgen is somewhat of a surprise to have made the team, as he was initially considered a long shot. However, the folks at Team USA obviously feel he’s earned his spot, and now he’ll get to play in the tournament in Finland, which begins later this week.
