Several Buffalo Sabres players are actively representing their home countries at the 2016 IIHF World Championships in Russia.
The tournament began late last week in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Among the Buffalo Sabres players participating are Hudson Fasching and Jake McCabe for Team USA, Sam Reinhart for Canada and Zemgus Girgensons for Latvia.
The United States dropped its first game of the tournament by a score of 5-1 to the Canadians.
Patrick Maroon had the lone goal for the US.
