The first trade of the day was made by the Buffalo Sabres and it was one that saw them sending away the 21st overall pick in the 2015 draft in exchange for goaltender Robin Lehner and center David Legwand.
As Buffalo pushed on through the year, it was very evident that a key piece was missing more than anything else, a starting goaltender. Jonas Enroth, Michal Neuvirth, and Anders Lindback were capable of holding Tim Murray’s plan of finishing last place, but were not really the starting goaltender that the team needed. With newly acquired Robin Lehner, there is an expectation that he will become that.
