When looking back on the 2015-2016 Buffalo Sabres season, defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo was a small piece of the puzzle.
He was often scratched as one of the odd men out defensively, and as an upcoming unrestricted free agent, his future with the Buffalo Sabres seems uncertain at best, nonexistent at worst.
The 33-year-old Colaiacovo was the oldest member of the Buffalo Sabres’ defensive core, and while he could have provided a veteran presence on a generally-young blueline, he didn’t get to play all that often, making his impact limited.
Colaiacovo appeared in just 36 games this season with the Buffalo Sabres, often being scratched as the 7th or even 8th defenseman.
