It’s no secret that at the beginning of the season, Buffalo Sabres fans were raving about the top end skills that are possessed by Casey Mittelstadt. With the departure of Ryan O’Reilly, the second line center position was up for grabs, and Mittelstadt seized the chance to fill that role. It took him a while to settle in, but he has shown he can play big minutes when needed.
The issue with Mittelstadt this season has not been his effort or skill, it has been his ability to produce on the scoresheet.
Currently, Mittelstadt sits with 11 points in 42 games played this season.
