There is a lot of risk for the Buffalo Sabres working out a deal to acquire a potential rental piece in Connor Hellebuyck. Or, is there?
Many of you know I’ve been in the “Buffalo Sabres should pass on Connor Hellebuyck camp.” I mean, unloading and mortgaging current and future assets, even with a playoff-caliber roster for a potential rental makes absolutely no sense unless you’re building a one-year team.
And the last I checked, Adams wanted long-term success, not a mortgage for a player who could cost you high draft picks, top-end prospects, and perhaps current players for one year of service.
