As we await the first puck drop for the 2019-20 Buffalo Sabres season. Let’s all have a drink to 50 years of Sabres Hockey.
Hopefully tonight the Sabres start the season off with a big win against the Pittsburgh Penguins in pursuit of our first Stanley Cup. But before we begin year #50, let’s look back at some of the highlights through the first 49.
After the Sabre’s were founded in the late 1960’s, Buffalo was almost instantly blessed with a great trio of hockey players Gilbert Perreault, Rick Martin, and Rene Robert, better known as the French Connection.
